“Frasier’s dad,” actor John Mahoney, has died at the age of 77.
From the series’ first season, this was my favorite scene. Frasier had removed his dad’s beat-up old chair. The first minute will make you laugh, the second minute will make you cry. It is as good as TV gets. One of the show’s writers paid Mahoney the ultimate tribute: “You never caught him acting.”
