Garry Thurman ties one on with me, for American Cancer Society

Update, May 19, 2016: Congratulations to Garry Thurman, president of Guardian Asset Protectors in Chattanooga! Garry is a great supporter of the American Cancer Society in Chattanooga. In fact, he’s sponsoring this year’s gala, and will be among the “Real Men Wearing Pink” later this year. Thankfully, there are several pink ties in my collection, and he won the drawing. Garry gets the 26 ties, and the American Cancer Society gets $200 ($100 from Garry, $100 matched by me). Thanks Garry, for entering the contest, and for supporting this great cause!

Previous story:

A couple of years back, I cleaned out the tie closet, and “sold” a whole bunch of ties to Andi and Jim Erwin.  They paid $100 which ended up at their charity of choice (a check payable to the Alzheimers Association of Southeast Tennessee), and I matched them with a $100 donation to the organization.  As a result, the Erwins got a closet full of ties for Jim, and the Alzheimers Association got a cool $200.

So now, I’ve gone through my TV news ties again, and 26 beautiful, gorgeous, gently worn ties are up for grabs: just in time for Father’s Day (or any other holiday or birthday you prefer).

Is there a guy in your life who just LOVES to wear a tie?  Or maybe I should re-phrase that: is there a guy you know who HAS to wear a tie?  Imagine the huge grin on his face when he opens that present, and finds not one, not two, but TWENTY-SIX ties, some of them almost new, all of them seen by millions, or thousands, or at least a large handful of viewers!

One tie, two ties, Red ties, blue ties. old ties, new ties.  No bow ties (never learned how to tie them: maybe Jed Mescon will auction off a few of his prized possessions!).

Striped ties, solid ties, wide ties, thin ties.  Retro ties, modern ties, even a red, white and blue tie (for the 4th of July!)  Holiday ties, bright ties, dark ties. Ties for all occasions.  How do you get these ties for your beloved tie guy?  It’s easy.

Send me an email to DCties@yahoo.com.  Tell me which charity (or club, or church) you would like to support.  I’ll have a drawing, LIVE on Facebook.  The winner pays $100 to charity, gets 26 TV news ties for a loved one, and sees $200 donated to your favorite charity, club or church.

So there you have it: the gift for the man who has everything.  A collection of my TV news ties.  What are you waiting for?  Send your e-mail to DCties @yahoo.com NOW! (Deadline is May 15)
